Ode to Summer Vol.2

After spending so many summers by the beach, I felt the pull of the mountains this year. I set my sights on the Nelson Lakes, a region I knew well from past winters spent snowboarding & hiking here. I was excited to see how this landscape would transform in the warmer months. These Alps were the backdrop to my childhood, I guess the beach was always more accessible.

With no real expectations, something I wasn’t custom to as a photographer. The summer goal was to be opened minded, have no real plans and see how my feeling from winter to summer would change in such a familiar place. As I look back on this set of images, it’s a refreshing approach to why I enjoy capturing versus creating moments & enjoy the lesser serious pursuit of photography.

I hope you enjoy the photo set.
