Behind the photoset: A place I grew up

The pursuit of (quiet) space.

On past adventures, I’d purposely captured video albeit without any real certainty of how I would use the footage. Diving through the archives and the self-drive to learn more about editing film and motion; it came to me. The want to share more of my video works. A deeper dive or an experience of how my photosets come to life.

The photoset

The start of a coastline that stretches into what is known as Golden Bay, a name truly represented by the sand on every single beach. The addition of the cooler clear waters of winter and sunlight beating down intensifies its vibrance.

Silver Fern. Endemic to New Zealand

The undergrowth feels dense and cold, the air is so fresh.

You can almost feel the warmth of the sun in the trees above. The low angle of the winter sun's path takes its time to reach us. Our patience to have it touch our skin and to bring back some body heat after the last hour in the forest is growing.

The defrost. A true representation of golden sands.

Let me know if you enjoyed the set, or share with a friend or subscribe on Youtube. Thanks
