Rich Gibbins — Photographer, Filmmaker, Director
bio
For close to 7 years, photographer Rich Gibbins has carved out a distinctive voice in outdoor adventure photography. Driven by the belief that the most powerful images don’t just show the scene, they immerse you in it. By honest storytelling with a cinematic sensibility, his work seeks to evoke emotion, inspire action, and invite audiences into the moment.
Drawn by the constant pursuit of exploring the unique, Rich seeks out tension between harsh environments and soft light in the wildest alpines, surf breaks, and ocean outcrops of the Pacific. While New Zealand is home, Australia has long been a second base; a decade spent surfing its east coast has shaped a visual approach that blurs everyday life with authentic moments in the outdoors.
With an unrepeated eye for detail and a deep respect for the wild, his portfolio spans from intimate, human-scale moments to expansive landscapes that celebrate the thrill of adventure. A left-of-centre approach to visual concepts has brought assignments to life that transcend industries—from local surf brands to outdoor visionaries and global camera and espresso machine makers.
